What I'd like to call my TOTGA of all of my case studies, this was originally my first pass entry for the User Experience Society's UX University Case Competition. This study aimed to address the problem that students, whose only means of accessing Online Distance Learning is through their smartphones, need a Learning Management System that caters to the functionalities and limitations of mobile devices. Initially meant to be a case study involving UX Research and Product Design, this case only ended up becoming a UX Research piece after I had decided to forego the second phase of the competition due to personal reasons.
Despite not being fully realized, this is still one of my favorite and proudest moments of User Experience Research.

For my Guided Studies in Design Thinking for I.T. Solutions, my groupmates and I used the design thinking process to work on the concept of Budol or being influenced to buy something online by reviews of other people. Initially, we first thought about the problem in a positive way, wanting to encourage spending by consolidating reviews, but we realized via the design thinking process that we could even create a solution that did not encourage it but actually curbed the impulse. From this, our solution actually gasified the freezing of cart as a challenge for users to gain more vouchers for free by keeping themselves from buying things impulsively. This allowed them to responsibly shop while also gaining the incentive of discounts and vouchers in their future purchases.

For my Guided Studies in User Experience Analysis and Design Using Personas class, we were given the term-long project of creating a digital solution that would help aid the elderly. The entire quarter, I researched and created elderly personas meant to represent a user that faced a certain problem and for mine was the problem that food ordering applications were difficult for elderly users to understand and use, as well as the fact that restaurants do not normally display dietary information. The application I conceptualizaed called Kaonta, provided an application designed on being mindful of the needs of the Elderly, such as the use of color in the application, how navigation needed words with the icons, and the overall guided experience with dietary information meant to be displayed.

A collaboration with creative directors for this case competition, designing the feel and the flow of the Information Management Summit 2020 was a design challenge because of the short amount of time this was accomplished. This site was designed within a span of 5 days amidst schoolwork. As the product designer of this site, the website was meant to contain the needed details about the business technology case competition while providing an FAQ and a form for joining the case competition. This site was quite a joy to design due to the visual identity provided by the designers, and staying true to its branding.

Moving into the online setting for college organizations have required a lot of departments to get creative in providing a similar amount of perks of memberships offered pre-pandemic. Before the pandemic, college organizations would often have partnerships with surrounding businesses near my university that provided members perks and discounts, and reimagining this perk in an online school setting had allowed me as Vice President for Communications of the Ateneo Management Information Systems Association (Ateneo MISA) to work with the Marketing Cluster to create the Partnership Site which provided members of the organization to view perks with partner businesses and see event opportunities. This product allowed me to practice my Product Designer skills as the product design lead and working from the navigation to the visual identity of the site to match with the organization’s branding.

Many students want to track their grades and experiment to see their academic performance. However in my university, we can only rely on our student information system which doesn’t give us the opportunity to experiment and track until our grades are actually up. With this, I actually created my own notion page that allowed students specifically from my university to calculate their Qualitative Point Index (my university’s version of a Grade Point Average (GPA)) and eventually do future planning with this tracker. This calculator gained a lot of success as a Notion template within my university with. My original post for this template was shared over 103 Shares, as well as 1,297 link clicks from August 17, 2021 to the present.

Design challenges give an opportunity for budding product designers to be assigned a specific challenge. Rookey is a product design and conceptualized aiming to provide fellow budding designers with a means of linking together fonts, photos, and color palettes into a sort of visual branding board.
This design was accomplished as a Design Challenge into User Experience Society.

Palit (Noun, Filipino, Verb) To Switch
Sustainable fashion never goes out of style, and as a part of the UX Design Fundamental Course by Coursera and the California Institute of the Arts, my first product design and User Research allowed me to conceptualize a product idea that aimed to combine the usability of dating apps and the advocacy of slow fashion. Palit is a clothing-centric application that allows users to match with other users in a virtual swap meet. This case study allowed me to gain my footing as a product designer and inspired me to continue to improve my skills.

A product design co-created with Tria Gonzales, this site was the first design I had created which was executed and deployed as an internal project of the Ateneo Management Information Systems Association. This site was meant to improve on the officer application process of the college organization, moving from filling things out in a Google Form or an actual Word Doc Application to the site itself which became the one stop site in seeing information about available officer positions to signing up by filling up a form. At the present, they currently still use the site we had designed with a few new design elements. Creating this site had an overall positive rating with pretty great feedback about how signing up for leadership positions in the organization was made much more convenience.
